What The Confession Is About

Spring 1945, a small French town under occupation. The new priest attracts the interest of the women in town, while Barny, young, atheist and communist, goes to argue with him and to back him into a corner. As the conversations continue, something forms between them that neither can name. The film is adapted from Beatrix Beck's Goncourt-winning novel, whose title the Turkish promotional text gets wrong. The same novel was filmed by Jean-Pierre Melville in 1961, which is an easy source of confusion. Romain Duris is the priest and Marine Vacth is Barny.
