What The Conspirators Is About
During the Second World War, in neutral Lisbon, the Dutch resistance fighter Vincent Van Der Lyn escapes the Germans, takes refuge in the city and makes contact with the secret network there. The woman he meets in a casino both draws and worries him; whom she works for is unclear, and it becomes plain that there is an informer inside the network. As the city police, German agents and resistance members move through the same narrow streets, the question of who can trust whom grows larger. Hedy Lamarr, Paul Henreid, Sydney Greenstreet and Peter Lorre appear in Jean Negulesco’s hundred and one minute American film.
