Two friends in Warsaw want to set up a business importing Italian scooters, but they cannot raise the collateral the bank wants. Then Gerard, a man one of them used to live near, turns up and offers to put up the money. After that it inverts: he starts collecting on a debt that never existed, with threats, then beatings, then their families. They go to the police and the prosecutors, and nobody takes it. Krzysztof Krauze made it from a case that actually happened in Warsaw in the early nineties. The film was decisive in getting both real men pardoned by the president afterwards, Sikora in 2005 and Bryliński five years later.
