What The Double Hour Is About
Sonia is an immigrant working as a hotel chambermaid in Turin; Guido is a former policeman now working security at a villa. They meet at a speed dating event and a relationship begins. Then, during a weekend away, everything breaks, and from that moment the film changes genre. Saying more would spoil it. The double hour of the title comes from the Italian idea about the moment when a clock shows matching digits, the moment for making a wish. Kseniya Rappoport won the best actress prize at Venice for playing Sonia.
