What The End of the Line Is About
The documentary opens on a single question: what happens if the fish in the sea run out? It sets out how overfishing has collapsed stocks, how western demand for sushi has pushed bluefin tuna to the edge, and how the sea fills with jellyfish once the fish are gone. Rather than pile up numbers, Rupert Murray’s film asks where the fish on the plate came from, and divides the responsibility between the consumer and the industry. Ted Danson narrates. It is openly a warning and a piece of advocacy, and it does not forget to say who goes hungry in a future without fish.
