What The Feast Is About
The year is 1943 and it is Christmas Day. Two American pilots turn up in a Serbian village. Their plane has been brought down. The Chetniks in the village take them in. They treat them as guests. A table is laid and there is a holiday mood. Then word arrives. The Germans are looking for the two pilots. With that word the air changes. Hospitality gives way to calculation. What was a visit turns into something else. The film follows that turn step by step. The faces around the table change. The moral pressure of the war shows itself here. Jovan Janićijević, Anka Zupanc and Velimir Živojinović appear in the eighty three minute film, a Yugoslav production Đorđe Kadijević finished in 1967.
