What The Flying Scotsman Is About
The true story of the Scottish cyclist Graeme Obree. With no professional team, no sponsor and no money, he built his own bicycle out of scrap including parts from a washing machine, and broke the record for the furthest distance ridden in an hour. Because the bike and his riding position were unorthodox he had to fight the governing body, the rules were changed, and at one race he was not allowed to start at all. The film also covers Obree's depression, including his suicide attempts.
