What The Girl, the Mother and the Demons Is About
Ti lives in a flat with her mother. The mother is raising her alone. She lives with a mental illness. At times she talks to beings nobody else can see. She calls them demons. Ti hears her mother speaking to them. But she can see no one. She notices her mother’s face changing. The flat slowly closes off from the outside. The mother locks the two of them in. Ti gives nothing away outside. She behaves normally to protect her mother. Yet the weight is crushing her too. The film tells it through the child’s eyes. The account does not turn the illness into a horror device. Esther Quigley and Maria Sundbom appear in the ninety two minute film, a Swedish production Suzanne Osten finished in 2016.
