What The Lone Wolf Meets a Lady Is About
A hardworking secretary employed by a rich woman finds herself engaged to the woman’s son and accused of a murder she did not commit. A piece of jewellery, statements that do not agree and a house where everyone is hiding something tangle the matter further. The person who helps her clear her name is a former thief who now solves crimes. The film is one of the detective comedies the American studios turned out in series in the forties: short, fast, running jokes and suspense together. The account does not leave the accused woman helpless; she tries to build her own defence. Warren William and Jean Muir appear in Sidney Salkow’s seventy one minute American film, completed in 1940.
