What The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra Is About
The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra was made on a budget of roughly 40,000 dollars, with a screenplay written in about five days and a shoot lasting only around ten; Larry Blamire wore four hats, serving as writer, director, lead actor, and the voice of the title Skeleton. The film premiered at the Mill Valley Film Festival on October 8, 2001, and built its cult reputation through DVD and genre press and convention support rather than any theatrical run. Who it's for: anyone curious about a deliberate, low budget parody of 1950s B-movies that built a cult following through DVD rather than theaters. Who it's not for: viewers wanting a serious, high budget science fiction film, since this deliberately imitates a cheap aesthetic.
