What The Lunchroom Is About
Lila works on the cleaning staff of a public office and runs an unofficial canteen inside it with her friend Marcela. When Lila is formally put in charge of that canteen, a thirty year friendship finds itself on two sides of a hierarchy for the first time and the fragile balance of the workplace goes. Ezequiel Radusky's 2019 film takes seventy eight minutes and makes no speeches about what a promotion does to people. It is not interested in bad intentions but in the fact of two people ceasing to be equals in the same room. You do not need to know anything about Argentine public sector job security to follow it.
