Almudena Grandes S Stuart Smith What The Most Dangerous Man in Europe: Otto Skorzeny's After War Is About
The documentary tells the life after the war of a Nazi officer known for the military actions he took part in during the Second World War. Otto Skorzeny was tried and imprisoned in 1947, but escaped before a year was out and found a safe place for himself in Spain under Franco. The film looks into the long years he spent there: whom he worked with, which networks he moved in, and the relation post war intelligence services kept with former Nazis. The account does not present the man as an interesting character; its real question is why nobody touched him. The sixty eight minute Spanish documentary by Pedro de Echave and Pablo Azorin was completed in 2020.
