The Nagano Tapes

The documentary returns to the Nagano Winter Olympics of 1998. The Czech team took gold in the ice hockey tournament. NHL players took part in those Games for the first time. Dominik Hašek stood in the Czech goal. Jaromír Jágr played up front. The Czechs beat Russia one nil in the final. The film tells those days through the players themselves. Forty interviews were made for the production. Speaking in their own language opened the players up. There is IMAX footage that had not been shown before. Material from the Olympic Committee archive is used as well. The film was prepared together with the Czech Olympic Committee. The team had not gone into the tournament as a favourite. The documentary was recognised at the Czech film critics awards in 2018. Dominik Hašek and Jaromír Jágr appear in the seventy three minute documentary. It is a Canadian, Czech and American production Ondřej Hudeček finished in 2018.
