The Nest of the Turtledove

Daryna lived in a small village in Ukraine. Her husband lost his job. Keeping the household going got hard. She was offered work abroad. The place she went to was Italy. There she started looking after a wealthy family’s house. Years passed that way. The money she sent kept life in the village going. Now she is coming back. The home she returns to is not the same. The family has built its own order without her. She has changed as well. The story looks at the distance between those two lives. The film is about what leaving the country to work costs. Rymma Zyubina and Vitalii Linetskyi appear in the hundred and eleven minute film, an Italian and Ukrainian co-production Taras Tkachenko finished in 2016.
