What The Olsen Gang Is About
Egon Olsen is the brain of the gang that carries his name. He spent his time inside working out how to steal a magnificent golden figure, and the moment he is out he assembles his crew and the plan begins going into effect step by step, with something going wrong at every step. Knut Bohwim's 1969 film starts one of the longest running series in Scandinavian comedy. Arve Opsahl plays Egon. The inevitable collapse of the perfect plan is the standing joke of this kind of picture, and the film delivers it in a good humoured register that never turns cruel.
