What The One-Eyed King Is About
Nacho lost an eye to a rubber bullet at a street protest; David is the riot policeman who fired it. Entirely by accident, the two of them end up at the same table at a dinner party. Marc Crehuet adapted this black comedy from his own stage play and builds it on what Spain went through after the crisis of 2008. Around a table set for four, politics, guilt and what each of these people actually believes come open slowly. The film was made in two versions, Catalan and Spanish, with every scene shot twice.
