The Other F Word

Punk was built on refusing authority. So what happens when the men who sang those songs become fathers? The documentary follows Jim Lindberg, the singer of Pennywise, on tour and at home: the man who has been shouting the same defiance from a stage for twenty years spends his time at home managing school runs, bedtimes and pocket money. The distance between the two is funny and exhausting at once. Andrea Blaugrund Nevins's film also has Mark Hoppus of Blink-182, Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tim McIlrath of Rise Against talking. What most of them have in common is having grown up with a bad father, and that is where the real subject of the documentary is.
