What The Parade Is About
A group of gay activists in Belgrade want to hold a pride march, and nobody will protect them. In the end security is taken on by a nationalist war veteran who despises gay people but agrees for reasons of his own. To assemble a guard he drives across the former Yugoslavia and gathers men who fought on opposite sides in the war. Srđan Dragojević directed. Real footage of the 2010 Belgrade march is in the film; that march was attacked by thousands of people. The comedy is crude and uses prejudice deliberately, because that is exactly the audience it is aimed at.
