The Phenomenon

The Phenomenon, written and produced by ufologist James Fox and narrated by Peter Coyote, was released on October 6, 2020, covering UFO footage the Pentagon newly declassified that same year. The film features testimony from NASA astronauts Gordon Cooper and Edgar D. Mitchell, former US Senator Harry Reid, former White House advisor John Podesta, and former governors Fife Symington and Bill Richardson. Harry Reid praised the film for making "the incredible credible." Who it's for: anyone curious about a UFO documentary whose release coincided with the Pentagon's own declassified footage that year, featuring astronaut and senator testimony. Who it's not for: viewers wanting a skeptical documentary that interrogates evidentiary standards, since the film presents the testimony directly.
