The Punk Voyage

PKN was a punk band from Finland. The group was called Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät. All four of its members have learning disabilities. The band began in a workshop run for adults with disabilities. They worked together for seven years. They played close to three hundred shows in sixteen countries. In 2015 they represented Finland at Eurovision. Millions watched that performance. They became known figures at home. But the pace and the attention brought pressure. Kari struggled with what fame demanded of him. Sami turned toward politics and faith. Toni and Niila from the crew were drawn to the same person. Pertti grew tired of it and decided to stop. The band broke up in December 2016. Kari Aalto and Sami Helle appear in the one hundred minute documentary. It is a Finnish production J-P Passi and Jukka Kärkkäinen finished in 2017.
