Marina Rocco What The Right Distance Is About
The arrival of a young teacher in a small town in the Po valley disturbs its sleepy order. When something develops between her and a Tunisian mechanic who has lived there for years the looks around them harden, and once a murder is committed the suspicion goes straight to him without passing through any thought at all. We watch it through a local boy who wants to become a journalist, which is where the title comes from: the distance a reporter is meant to keep from his subject. Mazzacurati lets the racism show in the conclusion the town reaches by itself.
