What The Secret of the Third Planet Is About
A Soviet animation of fifty minutes, so not a full-length feature. In the twenty-second century young Alisa, her father Professor Seleznyov and their pilot Zelyony set out into space to collect rare animals for Moscow Zoo. Along the way they acquire a talking bird, and the phrases it repeats uncover a conspiracy involving two missing captains. It is adapted from Kir Bulychov's Alisa books. Its real reputation rests on the design: the planets, creatures and colours still look like nothing else. Made for children, but an adult will sit through it happily.
