The Snatch Thief

In the Argentine city of Tucuman, Miguel makes his living snatching bags from a motorbike. Pulling the handbag off an old woman called Elena, he injures her badly. After it happens his conscience will not settle and he cannot put his victim out of his mind. Hiding who he is, he goes to her and starts looking after the injured Elena, who knows nothing about any of it. The closer he gets to her the deeper he sinks into the lie he has built, and the more afraid he is of telling her the truth. The film does not offer making amends as an easy way out; every step the man takes it shows as a fresh debt. Sergio Prina plays the lead in Agustin Toscano’s ninety four minute Argentine film, completed in 2018.
