The Speedway Murders

The events took place in 1978 in the town of Speedway, Indiana. Four young people worked at a hamburger restaurant. Their Friday night shift ended. After that night nothing was heard from any of the four. The police at first took it for a theft. They thought the crew had taken money from the till and run. Because of that the investigation moved slowly. On Sunday their bodies were found. Only then was it understood to be murder. By that point it was too late. The restaurant had been cleaned and reopened. Nothing was left of the scene. The investigation was crippled from the very start. The film tells both the crime and the investigation itself. Essie Randles and Nya Cofie appear in the hundred and two minute film, an Australian, British and American co-production Adam Kamien and Luke Rynderman finished in 2024.
