What The System Is About
In a seaside town a group of local young men mix among the summer tourists and share the women out between them by a system of their own. Towards the end of one summer Tinker, the leader of the group and a young man who takes photographs in the street, sets his sights on a fashion model from a well off family, and this time it is he who falls in love. With the roles reversed, Tinker starts to see that it may not be the tourists who are being used in this game. In Michael Winner’s ninety three minute British film, Oliver Reed plays Tinker, with Jane Merrow, Barbara Ferris and Julia Foster in the cast. It was completed in 1964.
