The Unholy 2

Charles Gozali's 2025 Indonesian film continues from the previous one. Ustadz Qodrat is searching for his missing wife Azizah, and the search draws him back into matters of exorcism. The film joins horror to martial arts. Qodrat recites prayers and fights physically at the same time; the narrative stages the supernatural like a concrete enemy and the action sequences take wide space. Vino G. Bastian returned to the role. Horror with religious motifs has drawn large audiences in Indonesian cinema in recent years, and this production works in that strain. The images are dark and the effects heavy. Who it's for: those who follow Indonesian horror and the series. Who it's not for: people who have not seen the first film; the narrative summarises the past briefly and moves on.
