What The War Boys Is About
Home from his first year at college, David meets up with the friends he grew up with, Greg and George. What the three of them used to do was sit in a pickup on the US-Mexico border and chase people trying to cross, for fun. This time they try something bigger and hijack a load they believe is black-market televisions. The job is not what the film is about; what is unspoken between the three of them is. It tries to draw the line between the violence at the border and the performance of being a man, and the ambition of the idea outruns the execution in places. Ron Daniels directs, with Benjamin Walker and Victor Rasuk.
