What The Wild North Is About

Jules Vincent is a trapper living in the Canadian mountains. He is French Canadian and he knows how to read a trail. One day he kills a man. The killing happens in self defence. He is still required to stand trial. An officer of the Mounted Police comes after him. His name is Pedley and he is stubborn. Vincent will not be taken in, and he runs. The chase takes place in the depth of winter. Both men are trying to stay alive in the mountains and the ice. Nature is the same danger to each of them. The longer the road runs, the more respect grows between them. The story is built on that pair. Cyd Charisse is in the cast as well. Stewart Granger and Wendell Corey appear in the ninety seven minute film, an American production Andrew Marton finished in 1952.
