Massimo Bottura What Theatre of Life Is About
The documentary is about an unusual soup kitchen opened in Milan. The kitchen is run by a well known chef, and forty of the best known cooks in the world came and cooked there. Everything used was food left over from the Milan exposition of 2015; what would have been thrown away is turned into meals. The film does not stay in the kitchen and tells the stories of the refugees and homeless people who sit down at the tables. The account presents the help not as a display of charity but as an arrangement built against waste. Peter Svatek’s ninety four minute documentary was completed in 2016.
