Nothing goes right for Theo: the truck he has barely finished paying for has been stolen and the debt collectors are after him. To find it he sets off on a chase that runs from France into Italy, and everything gets worse along the way. Peter F. Bringmann’s film is one of the known examples of German road cinema, holding lorry driving, debt and sheer stubbornness together. Marius Muller-Westernhagen leads, and the character he plays became a cult figure in Germany in the eighties. Rough, funny and permanently in motion.
