What Three Businessmen Is About
An American art dealer arrives in Liverpool. He comes by train. What he deals in is topaz. A British art dealer arrives at the same hotel. His field is African art. The two meet in the hotel’s empty restaurant. They want to have dinner. The restaurant is not working. They go out to look for somewhere. The task turns hard at once. The Englishman says he is a vegetarian. The search for a meal drags on. The search is not really what the film is about. What it is about is what they say on the way. The talk goes off into religion and philosophy. The tone is satirical and strange. Miguel Sandoval, Alex Cox and Robert Wisdom appear in the eighty minute film, a Japanese, Mexican, Dutch and British production Alex Cox finished in 1998.
