What Thursday Is About
A man who has left his criminal past for the suburbs faces losing everything in a single day when his old partner turns up at the door on an ordinary Thursday. The film builds its one-day structure from a chain of visits: each new arrival enlarges the previous problem. The narrative delivers violence with humour, and in some scenes that register becomes uncomfortable. Skip Woods wrote and directed, with Thomas Jane and Aaron Eckhart. A real warning: there is torture, sexual violence and drugs. The black comedy does not lighten those scenes.
