What To Save a Life Is About

Jake Taylor has the high school sewn up: star of the basketball team, a beautiful girlfriend, liked by everybody. Then a friend he knew as a child kills himself, and Jake starts asking what he could have done for a boy he had spent years ignoring. He meets a youth pastor, starts going to church, tries to change his life, and his friends, his girlfriend and his own habits all push back. It is openly a film addressed to Christian teenagers and does not pretend otherwise. Within that, it handles adolescent loneliness, exclusion and suicide without softening them much. It was shown in American church youth groups for years and left a mark on its generation.
