What To Write Love on Her Arms Is About
Renee, nineteen, is fighting addiction, depression and self-harm, and while she waits out the period required before a treatment centre will admit her, her friends decide to look after her themselves. The story is real: Renee is a real person, and a piece written about her spread online and led to the founding of the charity that shares the film's name. The film is well meant and carries that organisation's message, but was found weak as cinema. Given the subject it contains hard material about self-harm and suicidal thinking; go in knowing that.
