Tobacco

Boris Morev wants money and power. He will risk anything to get them. He leaves Irina, the woman he loves. He marries the daughter of the owner of a tobacco factory. When his father in law dies the factory passes to him. His wife falls ill as well. Morev takes charge of Nicotiana. He is hard on the workers. Large strikes break out at the factory and blood is spilled. Then he takes Irina back into his life. First as a mistress and later as his second wife. For Boris, though, ambition always comes first. He plans to be the largest tobacco dealer once the war ends. Irina’s love for him runs out in the meantime. Behind the story lie the war and the partisan struggle. Nevena Kokanova and Yordan Matev appear in the hundred and fifty minute film, a Bulgarian and Soviet co-production Nikola Korabov finished in 1962.
