What Torture Me But Kill Me with Kisses Is About
Marino comes up to Rome from the provinces on business and meets Marisa, who will be the love of his life. Keeping the love going is another matter: first her father is against it, then, once the father dies, the gossip starts and Marino begins to doubt her. Marisa runs. Repentant, he goes looking and finds her almost by accident: she is married now, and her husband is deaf and mute. One of the classics of commedia all'italiana, directed by Dino Risi, with Nino Manfredi and Ugo Tognazzi. It is openly making fun of the photo-romance magazines of the day and of the whole grand-passion story.
