Ghost of Love

Nino is middle-aged, married, with an orderly life. One day on a bus he sees Anna, the lover he parted from years ago. She has not aged at all. Then he learns that Anna died some time back. The encounters go on anyway: in the street, in an old house, in his own bedroom. Nino no longer knows whether to trust what he sees or his own mind. The people around him start thinking he has lost it. Dino Risi directs, with Marcello Mastroianni as Nino and Romy Schneider as Anna. Ninety-three minutes. Risi is a director known for his comedies; here he moves somewhere else entirely, into a cold, fog-bound ghost story.
