Totally True Love

Anne is ten, and a new boy arrives in her class: Jørgen. He has also moved into the house at the end of the road that everyone calls haunted. Anne falls in love on the spot. But Jørgen's attention is on someone else, and Anne's closest friend knows it. So Anne lies, schemes, hurts her friend, and every bit of it comes back on her. The film does not find childhood love sweet; it takes it seriously and shows where it hurts. Anne Sewitsky directs this Norwegian film of eighty-three minutes, with Maria Annette Tanderød Berglyd as Anne. It took the top prize in the Berlinale's children's and youth section, and the work the young cast does is unusually natural.
