Trapito

On a stormy night a scarecrow called Trapito saves the life of a sparrow, Salapin. Salapin persuades him that he can leave his post, and the two set off together. On the road they meet Largirucho, a hopeless farmer, and go into the city to sell cheese. When Largirucho's money is stolen and he cannot settle the restaurant bill, the cook keeps his pig as security. They have seven days to find the money. Manuel García Ferré's 1975 Argentine animation is a classic of the country's children's cinema. García Ferré created cartoon characters for generations of Argentinians, and Trapito is among the best loved of them. It starts as a simple rescue story and turns into something about friendship and imagination.
