What Travels of Mr. Blot Is About
The second film in the Pan Kleks series adapted from Jan Brzechwa's children's books, following Akademia pana Kleksa from 1983, with Piotr Fronczewski back in the same role. It was a Polish and Soviet co-production, shot in two parts, Emissaries of Bajdocja and Inventors' Island. This time Kleks and the pupils of his magic school take to the road. Krzysztof Gradowski spreads fairy tale logic right through the sets and builds a world made for children that does not avoid a wink to the adults. At well over two and a half hours it is unusually long for a children's film of its period. Pan Kleks w kosmosie followed in 1988.
