Two Lottery Tickets

A man buys a lottery ticket. There are in fact two tickets. After the draw he learns the big prize has come up. But the tickets are nowhere to be found. They may be lost, or they may have been stolen. He starts searching for them with his friends. The search takes them across the whole city. Everybody has a guess and everybody has advice. They move between hope and panic. The little man’s great dream does not last long. The film was adapted from a story by Ion Luca Caragiale. The story had been written in 1901. Jean Georgescu prepared the screenplay. It was the second Romanian feature shot in colour. Audiences took to it while the critics were cooler. Grigore Vasiliu-Birlic and Marcel Anghelescu appear in the fifty eight minute film, a Romanian production by Aurel Miheleș and Gheorghe Naghi.
