What Uma Maheswara Ugra Roopasya Is About
Mahesh, who runs a small photography studio in a town in Araku, is a man who avoids a fight, is never without a smile and would rather back off than let an argument grow. One day, trying to break up a quarrel between his neighbours, he is beaten and humiliated in front of everyone, and from that day he swears not to put shoes on until he has beaten the man who did it. The vow slowly changes his life, his work and his relations with those around him; the question of revenge turns into a question of honour and then into a question of knowing himself. Venkatesh Maha’s hundred and thirty six minute Telugu film is a remake of the Malayalam production Maheshinte Prathikaaram; Satyadev Kancharana plays Mahesh. It was completed in 2020.
