What Vellai Pookal Is About
Rudhran, a retired police officer, goes to stay with his son in Seattle and is drawn into a run of child abductions in the neighbourhood. The film’s second line follows a mother and daughter held in a farmhouse; the woman is paralysed, escape is impossible, and the man in the house is involved in drugs and trafficking. As the two lines meet, the case becomes personal for Rudhran. Vivek Elangovan wrote and directed it, his first film, and the idea came from a real case near Seattle. Vivek leads, with Charle, Dev, Pooja Devariya and Paige Henderson in the cast. It opened in April 2019.
