Vengeance!

A man is killed through his wife's betrayal and a trap set by four businessmen. When his younger brother hears about it, he comes to the city with a single purpose: to settle it. He does not do it quietly or patiently; he goes straight to their doors and walks in front of everyone. Chang Cheh's film is one of the productions that changed the direction of Shaw Brothers action cinema. Instead of swords and period settings, a city at the start of the twentieth century; instead of heroism, a bloody revenge whose end is visible from the beginning. The man David Chiang plays is not fighting to win but to pay, and the film never softens that. Ti Lung plays the murdered brother. The fights are not decorative; they are hard, short and painful.
