Voyages

The film is made of three linked episodes. In the first, a group of Holocaust survivors from present day France are on a bus tour of Poland. On the way from a Jewish cemetery to Auschwitz the bus breaks down and they are left on the road. The second episode takes place in Paris. An old man from Lithuania visits a woman named Regine and says he is the father she had taken for dead. But is this man really her father? In the third, Vera, a Russian widow, emigrates to Israel and looks there for a cousin she has not seen in decades. Yiddish is spoken in the film. Emmanuel Finkiel’s French, Belgian and Polish coproduction was completed in 1999.
