Amberley Snyder, a young barrel racer, loses the use of her legs in a road accident. The doctors tell her she will not walk again. She does not change her goal: she wants to ride and compete again. Conor Allyn directed. Spencer Locke plays Amberley, Missi Pyle her mother. The story is real. After the crash Snyder learned to stay in the saddle using a belt system she developed herself and returned to professional rodeo; she still competes and speaks publicly. The best thing here is the detail of relearning to ride: what it means to hold balance with the torso rather than the legs is shown concretely. The telling follows the inspirational sports template with its emotional beats in plain view. Snyder did some of her own riding doubles. It went out on Netflix.
