Morten Holst What Walk with Me Is About
On deployment in Helmand, twenty five year old Thomas steps on a landmine and loses both legs. At the rehabilitation centre he meets Sofie, a rising dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet, who is there helping a relative recover from a long illness. Thomas wants to be back in the field immediately and grows impatient as his progress refuses to keep pace with him. When Sofie offers him a harder programme he takes it. Lisa Ohlin’s film is about the bond formed where two bodies are each wrestling with their own limit, and it declines to manufacture heroism.
