Wandering Stars

The documentary follows the French rapper Nekfeu through the making of his third album: the studio in Paris, recording in Japan, writing in Greece and working in the United States. Syrine Boulanouar and Nekfeu directed it together and stay inside the process rather than behind it. The subject is exhaustion as much as music: the man works constantly, is unsure what he is doing, and asks what fame is for. Figures such as Damso cut in. It was released in France as a one-night special screening and filled the cinemas, and going out alongside the album counted as one of the most striking pieces of marketing of its moment.
