Warehoused

A warehouse worker close to retirement and the young man who is to replace him spend five separate days together in an enormous, almost empty warehouse. There is no work as such; nothing arrives, nothing leaves, there are only two men and time. The film turns that slowly into a difference of generations: the older man holds on to rules and order, the younger cannot stop asking what any of it is for. Jack Zagha Kababie’s Mexican production adapts the Spanish playwright David Desola’s stage play of the same name, with Desola writing the screenplay as well. Critics described it as Waiting for Godot without the merchandise, and the emptiness is exactly where the comedy comes from. Hoze Meléndez and José Carlos Ruiz play the two.
