What Watch Me Burn Is About
After months of bullying at school, sixteen-year-old Jonathan pours petrol over himself and strikes a match. The film is about what comes after: the days in an induced coma, the burns unit, a family in shock and a school where nobody accepts responsibility. It comes from a real case; the young man survived, later wrote a book and became a speaker against bullying. Christophe Lamotte is not looking for an easy culprit, and shows instead how bullying becomes something everyone half sees and nobody stops. It contains difficult scenes and is worth knowing about beforehand.
